Pocono Mountains Celtic Festival, May 28-29, Shawnee Mountain, NJ
This Labor Day weekend, visitors can experience the sights and sounds of the Emerald Isles and Scottish Highlands in the beautiful Pocono Mountains on May 28-29. There will be non-stop Celtic music on two stages, foot stomping bagpipers from the MacKay Pipe Band, Celtic jam, working sheep dogs, Irish step dancers and a variety of Celtic craft and food vendors. The performances include KIR Project – Kirk McLeod from the band Seven Nations has launched the KIR Project. The KIR Project is a Musical Initiative aimed at bringing the Celtic Community closer together through music and dance; Halagan – Brought together to celebrate the police, the fire department and the military through blending celtic music and American standards, this group of five extremely talented musicians has electrified a multitude of audiences across the country with their high energy performances; Pocono Highland Dance Academy – The Pocono Highland Dancers are a cultural and educational group of young dancers that promote Scottish Culture in the Pocono Mountain Area; McElligott School of Irish Dance – Our mission is to instill the “Love of the Dance” in all dancers. McElligott School of Irish Dance is proud to be a registered school with the An Comisiun le Rinci Gaelacha; Gallagher School of Irish Dancing – Gallagher School of Irish Dancing is committed to promoting Irish Heritage through the learning of Irish Dance in competitive and non-competitive classes.
