Celebrate 30 Years of Transformative Social Dance for Youth at Mad Hot Ball 2024! Sept 20, New York, NY

Dancing Classrooms invites you to join the celebration of its 30th anniversary at the annual Mad Hot Ball Gala. This landmark event will take place at the beautiful Bohemian National Hall, 321 East 73rd Street, New York, starting at 6:30 pm EST.

The evening will honor four distinguished contributors to the world of social dance and community impact:

• Yang Chen: Humanitarian Award recipient for his social justice work and commitment to community through ballroom dance.
• Carrie Steinmetz: Dancing Classrooms Champion Award for her pivotal leadership and support of social dance education.
• Maria Torres: Social Dance Innovator Award for her groundbreaking work in “Latin Jazz” dance technique and more.
• Alejandro Mejia: Alumni Achievement Award for embodying Dancing Classrooms’ values of connection, joy, and inclusion as a middle school educator.

With live music from Danny Jonokuchi & The Revisionists, special performances by an “All-Stars Company” of Dancing Classrooms students, and a program hosted by actor and teaching artist Victoria Malvagno, the evening promises to be a memorable celebration of the past, present, and future of Dancing Classrooms.

Proceeds from the event support Dancing Classrooms’ mission to cultivate engaged learners, collaborative leaders, and inclusive spaces through social dancing.
