C+R’s A Timely Discussion About Genuine Cultural Connections,
September 29, Online Webinar at 12:00 pm CDT
Creating a genuine and thorough understanding of multiculturalism and diverse consumers takes time and effort: It is a journey, not a sprint! And, along that journey, when your strategy and marketing efforts aren’t grounded in cultural understanding, missteps can happen that lead to undesired consequences with your target audiences. Conversely, there are companies that have a vision and prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) as the cornerstone of their business. They create an authentic connection with diverse audiences and, as a result, are rewarded with loyalty.
But when mistakes are made, swift and honest action to correct them can be the best route. Owning up to those missteps can set your brand and teams on the right path to true cultural empathy.
In this webinar, you will learn about:
  • Common mistakes made when trying to target diverse populations
  • Consequences of good intentions gone awry in marketing
  • Pop culture icons who lead the way in driving action
  • Culture-centric research that can help bring you closer to diverse populations.
Florencia Cuenca Brings Her Musical Traditions to Stage in
“Broadway en Spanglish”
October 3, 2022, New York, NY
Mexican singer and actress Florencia Cuenca brings her acclaimed project “Broadway en Spanglish” to premiere on stage at Joe’s Pub. Florencia takes her musical upbringing and gives her favorite theater numbers a new life. Her project will also feature Mariachi Real de México de Ramon Ponce and new arrangements by Jaime Lozano. Together they take musical theater’s most iconic tunes and create fresh interpretations.
“As a brown Mexican immigrant with an accent, I am working to create opportunities for people like me to be on stage. As I work towards that dream, I am experimenting with how my mixed musical upbringing could reimagine my favorite musical theatre songs, playing with not only the ‘mezcla’ of musical traditions but how an immigrant woman learning a second language sounds when she speaks,” says Florencia Cuenca.
October 3 at 7 pm (doors open at 6 pm)
