Diverse Programming at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival, April 24 – May 5, 2019
The Tribeca Film Festival, founded in 2001, an annual celebration of film, music and culture, will be held this year on April 24 – May 5 in New York. This year’s themes reflect the diversity of the film program including African American, Asian, Female Directors, Latin, LGBT, Tribeca Film Institute Supported among others. It is well known for being a diverse international film festival that supports emerging and established directors. This year’s African American and African Diaspora Themed Films include: 17 Blocks, The Apollo, Burning Cane, Changing the Game and more. Asian/East Asian Themed Films include: 37 Seconds, AAMIS, American Factory, American Woman and more. Female Creators Themed Films include: All I Can Say, At the Heart of Gold, Circus of Books, Buffaloed and more. LATINX Themed Films include: Clementine, The Dominican Dream, The Gasoline Thieves (Huachicolero), Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice and more. LGBTQIA+ Themed Films include: For They Know Not What They Do, Flawless (Haneshef), Gay Chorus Deep South, Halston and more.
