TAMPICO BEVERAGES LAUNCHES PHILANTHROPIC ARM;

TAMPICO FOUNDATION RAISES NEARLY $250,000 AT INAUGURAL GALA

$50,000 to be Awarded at Fundraising Gala to

Two Non-Profit Organizations

September 11, 2013 Chicago, Ill.-Tampico Beverages, Inc., a multinational beverage company with headquarters in Chicago, Illinois, has launched a philanthropic arm called the Tampico Foundation for the purpose of supporting families and children in need in the United States and around the globe.  Scott Miller, CEO of Tampico Beverages, stated “the Tampico Foundation’s mission is to lend a helping hand as we travel the world building customer relationships and community interaction for the TAMPICO® brand.”

Thursday, September 12, 2013 marks the Inaugural Benefit Gala of the Tampico Foundation.  The Gala will be held at 6:00 pm at the acclaimed Adler Planetarium in Chicago, Illinois.  The Benefit Gala serves as an opportunity to share the Foundation’s missions with the business and philanthropic community and to award two needy organizations with cash grants.  The Foundation is supported by generous donations it receives from Tampico Beverages’ partners, vendors and suppliers from around the world.  Nearly $250,000 was raised at the Foundation’s first-ever event.

In its inaugural year, the Tampico Foundation will focus on the fight against hunger – an increasingly prevalent issue across the globe.  The World Health Organization estimates that 1/3 of the world is underfed and 1/3 is starving.  In the United States alone, over 50 million people struggle to put food on the table.

At this year’s Inaugural Gala for the Tampico Foundation, $25,000 will be awarded to Casa Central, a social service organization established in 1954 to assist the inner-city Hispanic population, and $25,000 will be awarded to Feed the Children, a not for profit organization founded in 1979 in Oklahoma City that provides resources to families fighting hunger and poverty in 10 countries.

Further giving activities by the Tampico Foundation are planned in 2014.
