ATLANTA, Georgia (09/03/2013) – During the 9th Annual Hispanic Retail 360 conference in Las Vegas Nevada, Eduardo Perez, president of PM Publicidad (PMP), a multicultural agency based in Atlanta that specializes in the U.S. Hispanic market, addressed the attendees about how 3rd screen devices, such as tablets and smartphones, are crucial to any successful marketing campaign that drives brand preference among Hispanic millenials.

A Hispanic millennial is best described as being U.S. born (although some were born abroad and moved to the U.S. at an early age), bicultural, tech forward and bilingual individuals between the ages of 21-29. Recent census reports have indicated that over the next few years, Hispanics will account for more than 80% of the growth among 18 to 29 year olds.

 

“We have noticed throughout different studies that Hispanic Millenials not only over index in the use of smartphones and tablets, they also are a driving force behind innovation and technology adoption”, said Perez. 52% of Hispanic Millennials use a mobile phone to assist when shopping, they are two times as likely to get online at home using a mobile device, and Apps and videos drive young Hispanic adults’ mobile experiences, according to the Meredith Hispanic Ventures Report

 

He added that one in five Hispanic smartphone owners prefer to use their phones to access the Internet. Perez also cited a recent Scarborough Research report that listed the top 10 online activities among young Hispanics, which included email, social media, news, sports and gaming, among others. Email was ranked at the top of the list.
