GlobeCast Unveils MyGlobeTV: A New Plug & Play Solution for Romanian Audiences

Date: Jun 29, 2012

Niles, Illinois, June 29, 2012 – For those craving the excitement and drama of Romanian television, the world just got a little bit sweeter. Thanks to GlobeCast’s MyGlobeTV, a new broadband TV service making its debut at the Romanian Heritage Festival, Romanian television fans can satiate their hunger for their favorite programming anytime, anywhere like never before.

MyGlobeTV will launch with an initial channel lineup of 16 premium Romanian channels on July 1, 2012. These are B1, Digi 24, Etno, Global Sports, GSP Sports, Kanal D, Minimax, Nasul TV, National Favorit, Prima TV, Pro TV, Realitatea TV, RSC 1, RSC 2, TVR 3 and TVRi. An internet connection and a MyGlobeTV set top box is all that’s needed to bring Romania right into your home.

“Simplicity and convenience are at the heart of our service,” says Anna Kornerup, Vice President of Marketing & Content Distribution at GlobeCast. “We’ve designed it so that the content you love is at your fingertips, when and how you want it.”

The MyGlobeTV set top box is ready to use right out of the box. It’s a plug and play system that does away with the cost of installation, calls to customer service and hours spent trying to decipher user manuals. It’s even equipped with a Facebook app that allows viewers to talk to their friends while watching TV. The Wi-Fi capable and DVR enabled box can record 450 hours of programming and has pause, rewind, forward and play functionality.

As easy as that may sound, Kornerup says things are going to get even easier than that.”It starts with a standard television and set top box, but we’re going far beyond that,” says Kornerup. “Future plans include development that will allow MyGlobeTV subscribers to watch their programming from any internet enabled device.” According to Kornerup, MyGlobeTV’s channel lineup will expand to include international content from around the world as well as content that appeals to a wide array of niche audience groups.

“Not only are we adding channels from all around the world, but we’re expanding our line-up to include content that appeals to different audience segments. Whether it’s movies or pay per view, science or music, history or drama, faith or culture, viewers will be able to find their niche on MyGlobeTV.”
